Raw Circle Studies
Ongoing series of experimental studies focused on developing a Processing-based tool in combination with a pen plotter. The aim is to explore generative approaches to the creation of letterforms and typographic structures.
Since my hand is still injured and I can neither spray nor draw, I’ve been experimenting a bit with #processing. The goal is to create further variations based on my font “VaRAWtions.” After some experimentation, the “Circled” version emerged – a beautiful reference to “Der Gerät” by Daniel Weissbach aka Cost and to Revok’s evolution of the concept. As always, watching the Bantam pen plotter in action is a meditative experience. The glitches caused by the ink on paper make each version truly unique.
